When applying Mod Podge to the nose pad to create the nodules, many taxidermists use a small paintbrush.
I have found that using a syringe or detail bottle< I can control the flow and shape I am creating with a steady pressure. It is faster and just as effective as using a paintbrush.
Note: The nodules are not round. Most have three to six sides that flatten upon meeting the adjoining nodule in any direction. They also vary in size with a slight separation between each nodule that increases as you proceed toward the lip line.

When applying the texture, don't forget the lower lip and inside the mouth, when visible. The syringe can easily reach some of these hard-to-reach places. Once the Mod Podge has dried, touch up with paint, like Yox Nose Pad Gray Paint, then spray with a gloss finish.
I recommend using Super Fish Gloss or LifeTone Liquid Crystal. Both of these taxidermy products will give you that finished look you want!
