Using Artificial Deer Feet

Holding hair back, make a clean even cut around the hooves with a sharp knife or scalpel.

In between the hooves make a cross cut (hoof to hoof) to allow the skin to be freed.

On the back side make a straight cut from the dew claw to the hooves on both sides.

Make a clean cut around each dew claw and work the skin back.

Work the skin back on the top of hoof and it can be pulled free from this point.

Remove the skin from the hoof. This procedure can be accomplished in only a few minutes.

The skin can now be tanned in your preferred manner.

After tanning, pull the skin over the artificial hoof.

A hide paste such as McKenzie Paste or Buckeye Supreme Paste is used under the skin for adhesion.

Zap-A-Gap or Super Glue should be used at the union with the hooves.

Position the skin around the dew claws and lower hooves with the same glue process.

Each artificial deer foot has a threaded bolt of the proper length for quick attachment to a 3/4" panel.
