How To Use Revolution Techno Head Changeout Faces

We offer Revolution Supply changeout faces which provide the taxidermist two distinct advantages. The first advantage is that these Techno Head faces are sculpted to recreate the look of deer from different parts of the country and deer of different ages. It may be the body of your customer's deer is one size and the head is one that is seasoned and showing age. This would be a great time to use a Techno Head changeout face. Check out a complete description of the different configurations and characteristics here.

The second advantage Revolution changeout faces offer is that they maintain all of the integrity of the original manufactured form; the head is still connected through the neck, providing more strength, especially where larger antlers are concerned. Only the deer form's face is changed out. No need to install wood reinforcement or threaded rods for added strength or worrying about too much stress on your freshly altered form!

Step 1: Confirm your choice and determine exactly where you will need to cut the original form in order to accommodate the replacement face.

Step 2: Mark your form to show where the cut will be made, being sure to consider matching the spacing between the back edge of replacement face and the form's new cut. Remember the old saying, "Measure twice, cut once."

Step 3: Saw the head evenly and squarely to match the replacement face. Make sure the base of the changeout face has exposed "inner foam" for good adhesion. Test fit the changeout face and make any necessary adjustments. Once the position is correct, scuff or ruff both sides as needed, clean off all debris with brush or compressed air and then bondo the changeout face to the form.

Step 4: After the bondo has cured, model the front / rear face junction to a smooth, natural union using clay, paper mache or other similar materials. You are now ready to proceed with the mounting process using your customized form.
